Anyway, I feel your pain -- I've been a daily bike commuter for several years now and don't even own a car anymore. There's a small war raging between some motorists and some cyclists here in Boston and Boston PD is starting to ticket cyclists for infractions like running stop signs and red lights. It's definitely a struggle, especially in a city like Boston that doesn't exactly embrace change, to figure out a sensible approach to safety and enforcement of traffic laws with respect to cyclists. That said, for every motorist who's pissed off that a cyclist rolled up to and through stop sign or red light, there's another one who's pissed off that they had to wait for you to get up to speed because you came to a full stop.
